Ever feel like something is watching you from a crack in the rocks? In Roco Kingdom, that is probably a Nostone. This tough little Earth-class Jini loves rolling down slopes with its pack, and it grows into Brocken, a towering rock giant with a massive 683 total Species Aptitude, the highest of any Jini in this series so far. Its unusual trait rewards teams built around Earth skills. Here is how the line grows and how to use it.

The evolution line

  1. Nostone (No. 027): Tough as rock, it is often spotted peeking out of cracks in the stone. It loves rolling down slopes in a pack, a kind of fun that only makes sense to Nostones.
  2. Notrock (No. 028): Its head is nearly as hard as bedrock, and ordinary rocks feel like soft mud next to it. It hardly seems to feel pain at all, and a solid whack might take forever to sink in.
  3. Brocken (No. 029): An imposing Jini of great size that rarely strays far from its territory. It looks hefty, but most of its weight sits in the rocky masses of its head and arms.

All three stages are Earth class, share the same trait and belong to the Mineral and Beast egg groups.

nostone

Trait: Leyline

This Jini starts battle with 0 Energy. Before it enters the field, it restores 3 Energy for each Earth-class skill its allies have used.

That makes Leyline a team trait. Lead with other Earth-class Jinies, use plenty of Earth skills, and then send in this line fully charged. Brought in too early, it starts empty, so timing matters.

Stats at every stage

Here is how Species Aptitude grows from stage to stage:

  1. Nostone, 409 total: HP 72, Physical Attack 81, Magic Attack 29, Physical Defense 95, Magic Defense 90, Speed 42
  2. Notrock, 546 total: HP 96, Physical Attack 108, Magic Attack 39, Physical Defense 127, Magic Defense 120, Speed 56
  3. Brocken, 683 total: HP 120, Physical Attack 135, Magic Attack 49, Physical Defense 159, Magic Defense 150, Speed 70

This line is an outstanding physical tank. Brocken’s 159 Physical Defense and 150 Magic Defense let it shrug off both kinds of attack, and its 135 Physical Attack hits hard in return. Its low Speed means it will usually move second, so it is built to take a hit before it strikes.

Size and capture details:

  1. Nostone: 0.42 to 0.6 m, 18.5 to 32.5 kg. Gives 16 Starlight and a 1,200 Roco Coin base review reward.
  2. Notrock: 0.93 to 1.34 m, 97.5 to 115 kg. Gives 28 Starlight and a 2,100 Roco Coin base review reward.
  3. Brocken: 1.75 to 2.5 m, 287 to 315 kg. Gives 40 Starlight and a 3,000 Roco Coin base review reward.

Class effectiveness

When attacking with Earth skills:

  1. Deals ×2 damage to: Fire, Ice, Electro and Poison
  2. Deals ×0.5 damage to: Flora and Fighting

When defending as an Earth-class Jini:

  1. Takes ×2 damage from: Flora, Water, Ice, Fighting and Mech
  2. Takes ×0.5 damage from: Common, Fire, Electro, Poison and Wing

All other matchups deal normal ×1 damage. Fire, Electro and Poison Jinies are ideal targets. Even against its five weaknesses, Brocken’s huge defenses give it room to survive a hit.

Research skills and Specialties

Brocken’s research skills are:

  1. Charge Up
  2. Unshaken

Every stage in the line shares the same Specialty odds:

  1. None: 64%
  2. Ambusher: 5.8%
  3. Affectionate: 5.8%
  4. Nimble: 5.8%
  5. Fleetfoot: 5.8%
  6. Shared Ride: 5.8%
  7. Fearless: 5.8%
  8. Sharer: 0.48%
  9. Homebody: 0.48%
  10. Helper: 0.48%
  11. Merciful: 0.01%

Where to start

  1. Evolve Nostone all the way to Brocken. Its total Species Aptitude climbs from 409 to 683.
  2. Build an Earth team around it. Every Earth skill your allies use before Brocken comes in gives it 3 more Energy.
  3. Save it for later in the battle instead of leading with it, since it starts with 0 Energy.
  4. Focus on physical attacks. Its Magic Attack is very low at every stage.
  5. Send it in against Fire, Electro and Poison opponents, and be careful around Flora, Water, Ice, Fighting and Mech attackers.
