It starts as a tiny grinning grub hiding underground, and it ends as a brainy butterfly whose wing dust can confuse other Jinies. In Roco Kingdom, Poppet, Poppillar and Poppixie make up a speedy Bug and Charm line with one of the most forgiving traits in the game: twice per battle, it simply refuses to be knocked out. Here is how the line grows and how to use it.

The evolution line

  1. Poppet (No. 032): It likes to hide underground and uses its ear-like antennae to sense what is happening nearby. It is rarely seen eating, since even a little food keeps it going for a very long time.
  2. Poppillar (No. 033): Its shell has hardened, so it can suck in its belly and crawl across many kinds of surfaces. The bright spots on its back look like warnings, but they are really the bases of its future scale-covered wings.
  3. Poppixie (No. 034): An exceptionally intelligent species, its brain makes up two-thirds of its body. Its wings are strong, and the magic-infused scale dust on them forms patterns that can confuse other Jinies.

All three stages are Bug and Charm class and share the same trait.

Poppixie variants

Poppixie comes in four looks:

  1. Normal Variant
  2. Wispera Variant
  3. Meevy Variant
  4. Florora Variant

Trait: Encocoon

When this Jini takes fatal damage, it gains 1 stack of Cuteify and negates that damage. This can trigger up to twice per battle.

In practice, the first two hits that would knock it out do nothing at all. That makes this line hard to remove and gives it extra turns to act, even with low stats.

Stats at every stage

Here is how Species Aptitude grows from stage to stage:

  1. Poppet, 228 total: HP 32, Physical Attack 28, Magic Attack 28, Physical Defense 40, Magic Defense 40, Speed 60
  2. Poppillar, 302 total: HP 42, Physical Attack 37, Magic Attack 37, Physical Defense 53, Magic Defense 53, Speed 80
  3. Poppixie, 377 total: HP 53, Physical Attack 46, Magic Attack 46, Physical Defense 66, Magic Defense 66, Speed 100

This line’s stats are low compared with most Jinies, but they are evenly balanced, and Speed is their clear highlight. Poppixie’s 100 Speed lets it act early, and Encocoon makes up for the thin HP and defenses.

Size and capture details:

  1. Poppet: 0.31 to 0.45 m, 3 to 4.5 kg. Gives 24 Starlight and a 1,800 Roco Coin base review reward.
  2. Poppillar: 0.35 to 0.51 m, 5.5 to 8.4 kg. Gives 42 Starlight and a 3,150 Roco Coin base review reward.
  3. Poppixie: 0.76 to 1.08 m, 15.6 to 17.8 kg. Gives 60 Starlight and a 4,500 Roco Coin base review reward.

Despite its low stats, this line pays out more Starlight and Roco Coins per capture than any other line covered in this series so far.

Class effectiveness

When attacking:

  1. Bug skills deal ×2 damage to: Flora, Havoc and Stellar
  2. Bug skills deal ×0.5 damage to: Fire, Poison, Fighting, Wing, Charm, Shadow and Mech
  3. Charm skills deal ×2 damage to: Dragon, Fighting and Havoc
  4. Charm skills deal ×0.5 damage to: Fire, Poison and Mech

When defending as a Bug / Charm Jini:

  1. Takes ×2 damage from: Fire, Poison, Wing, Havoc and Mech
  2. Takes ×0.5 damage from: Flora and Bug
  3. Takes ×0.25 damage from: Fighting

All other matchups deal normal ×1 damage. Havoc Jinies are a great target, since both Bug and Charm skills hit them for double damage. Fighting attacks barely scratch this line, but Fire, Poison and Mech Jinies are dangerous: they resist both of its attacking classes and hit it for double damage.

Every stage in the line shares the same Specialty odds:

  2. Ambusher: 5.8%

  5. Fleetfoot: 5.8%

Where to start

  1. Evolve Poppet all the way to Poppixie. Its total Species Aptitude climbs from 228 to 377.
  2. Lean on Encocoon. It blocks two knockouts per battle, so use those extra turns well.
  3. Use its high Speed to act before opponents.
  4. Send it in against Havoc and Fighting opponents.
  5. Switch out against Fire, Poison and Mech attackers.
  6. Collect the Wispera, Meevy and Florora variants of Poppixie.
  7. Catch these Jinies for their high Starlight and Roco Coin payouts.
