Roco Kingdom Embers in the Night Seasonal Assignment Guide: All Tasks and Rewards

The Embers in the Night season centers on a mystery: strange mana fluctuations are spreading, and a Legendary Jini named Palyn has appeared out of nowhere. In Roco Kingdom, the Seasonal Assignment is the questline that guides you through it. Over six chapters, you hunt rare Season Lucky Encounter Jinies, raise Palyn into its final form Parlygon, and earn Ember Tokens, Heat Emblems and other rewards along the way. Here is every chapter and what it takes to clear it.

How the Seasonal Assignment works

1. The Assignment has six chapters, and each chapter is a research topic.
2. Each of the first five chapters has six tasks, but you only need to finish some of them to claim the chapter reward.
3. Every task in chapters 1 to 5 pays 600 Heat Emblems plus Ember Tokens. The token payout grows from 10 to 20 to 40 as the chapters get harder.
4. Chapter 6 works differently. It has eight capture tasks, and each one pays a species Fruit plus 40 Ember Tokens.

Chapters 1 and 2: Meet Palyn

Chapter 1: Ember Season Guide (Legendary Jinies) Finish 2 of the 6 tasks to claim the chapter reward: 1 Palyn Egg, 5 Ember Pods and 4 Havoc-class Shards. Each task pays 600 Heat Emblems and 10 Ember Tokens.

1. Trigger a Season Lucky Encounter by capturing a Jini.
2. Buy a Jini egg from the Season Token Shop.
3. Use 20 Ember Pods in total.
4. Capture 5 Jinies with Ember Pods.
5. Buy Ember Pods from the Portmanteau.
6. Pet Palyn in the Portmanteau.

Chapter 2: Ember Introductory Topic (Unknown Encounters) Finish 3 of the 6 tasks to claim 2 Paly’s Memories, 5 Ember Pods and 8 Havoc-class Shards. Each task pays 600 Heat Emblems and 10 Ember Tokens.

1. Capture 3 Corrupted Bloodline Jinies through Season Lucky Encounters.
2. Collect 3 different Season Lucky Encounter Jinies.
3. Own a Season Lucky Encounter Jini with Amazing Talent.
4. Buy costumes, toys and emotes from the Portmanteau.
5. Raise Palyn to 1-Star.
6. Obtain the seasonal Legendary Jini Palyn.

Chapters 3 and 4: Evolve to Parlygon

Chapter 3: Ember Study Topic (A New Challenge) Finish 4 of the 6 tasks to claim 4 Paly’s Memories, 5 Ember Pods and 16 Havoc-class Shards. Each task pays 600 Heat Emblems and 20 Ember Tokens.

1. Capture 6 Corrupted Bloodline Jinies through Season Lucky Encounters.
2. Use 50 Ember Pods in total.
3. Complete 6 Season Matches in total.
4. Complete 1 Season Match.
5. Clear a Starry Duel using a Jini from the Palyn family or a Season Lucky Encounter Jini.
6. Evolve Palyn into Parlyth.

Chapter 4: Ember Advanced Topic (Legend of the Night) Finish 4 of the 6 tasks to claim 6 Paly’s Memories, 5 Ember Pods and 16 Havoc-class Shards. Each task pays 600 Heat Emblems and 20 Ember Tokens.

1. Capture 8 Season Lucky Encounter Jinies.
2. Use 100 Ember Pods in total.
3. Complete 6 Codex Research Topics for Parlygon.
4. Award a medal to a Jini from the Palyn family.
5. Give Parlygon a new name.
6. Evolve Parlyth into Parlygon.

Chapters 5 and 6: Endgame goals

Chapter 5: Ember Mastery Topic (Aim to Be the Strongest Mage) Finish 4 of the 6 tasks to claim 8 Paly’s Memories, 5 Ember Pods and 1 Essence of the Pact. Each task pays 600 Heat Emblems and 40 Ember Tokens.

1. Complete all Season Matches for the current season.
2. Obtain all Season Lucky Encounter Jinies for the current season.
3. Raise Parlygon to max star.
4. Complete 1 Parlygon Team Battle using a Roco Pass Jini.
5. Own 1 Jini from the Fluffae or Aurakirin family.
6. Capture a Palyn during a Parlygon Team Battle.

Chapter 6: Ember Badge Topic (The Secret of the Mana Fluctuations) This chapter looks into whether the mana fluctuations are tied to the mysterious Nightmare Shackles. Each task asks you to capture 2 Corrupted Bloodline Jinies of one species, and pays that species’ Fruit plus 40 Ember Tokens:

1. Bessel: Bessel Fruit ×1
2. Bulbie: Bulbie Fruit ×1
3. Mozzle: Mozzle Fruit ×1
4. Barkind: Barkind Fruit ×1
5. Skullow: Skullow Fruit ×1
6. Cresura: Cresura Fruit ×1
7. Astrobun: Astrobun Fruit ×1
8. Stellie: Stellie Fruit ×1

Where to start

1. Clear Chapter 1 first to get the Palyn Egg, since many later tasks need Palyn.
2. Stock up on Ember Pods early. Tasks across chapters ask for 20, 50 and finally 100 Pods used in total.
3. Chase Season Lucky Encounters as you play. They count toward tasks in almost every chapter.
4. Raise Palyn steadily: 1-Star in Chapter 2, Parlyth in Chapter 3, Parlygon in Chapter 4 and max star in Chapter 5.
5. Finish every task, not just the minimum, if you want all the rewards. Clearing all 38 tasks pays 18,000 Heat Emblems and 920 Ember Tokens, along with 20 Paly’s Memories, 25 Ember Pods and 44 Havoc-class Shards from the chapter rewards.
