Want a Jini that stands out from every other one on the field? Roco Kingdom has two ways to get one: Chromatic Jinies, which are born in rare colors, and Prismatic Jinies, which carry a special pattern added when you catch them. They sound alike, but you get them in completely different ways.
Chromatic vs. Prismatic
- Chromatic Jinies are born with colors that differ from their species’ usual look. You find them in the wild or hatch them from Chromatic eggs, so luck plays a big part.
- Prismatic Jinies get a pattern from the Pod you catch them with. You decide when it happens.
Only 127 species have a Chromatic form, and a species without one will never spawn in alternate colors.
To improve your chances of a Chromatic, use Chain Capture:
- Pick one species, ideally one from the list above.
- Keep catching that same species back to back.
- The more you chain, the more often that species appears, and that includes its Chromatic form.

Prism Pods and their patterns
Catching a Jini with a Prism Pod turns it Prismatic. There are four Prism Pods, and all of them catch Jinies effortlessly:
- Prism Pod: Premium Buddy Pod
- Ember Prism Pod: Rare Buddy Pod
- Carnival Prism Pod: Rare Buddy Pod
- Reverie Prism Pod: Precious Buddy Pod
The pattern you get depends on the Pod:
- Embers in the Night: season pattern
- Carnival of Curiosities: season pattern
- Tales of Reverie: season pattern
- Black & White: available at any time
Every Prism Pod needs Prismatic Shards as an alchemy ingredient, so it pays to stock up on them before a hunt.

Legendaries, puzzle pieces and disguised Jinies
Even Legendary Jinies can turn out Prismatic:
- When you catch a Legendary with a Starseal, it has a chance to come out Prismatic.
- With a Starseal active, even a regular, non-Prismatic Buddy Pod can produce a Prismatic Jini.
Puzzle pieces give you a second route to Prismatic Jinies:
- There are 202 puzzle pieces, and each one comes from a non-season Prismatic Jini such as Meevy, Cerulla, Sparka or Duckiji.
- Collect enough pieces of one Jini.
- Craft them into a customizable Prismatic egg of that Jini.
Watch out for chests that move. Seventeen Jinies can disguise themselves as objects in the world, including Mimbit, Mimisk, Stumbral and Nytty. To deal with them:
- Opening the wrong chest starts a battle with the Jini hiding inside.
- Use Starry Magic to break the disguise before you open anything suspicious.
- If one shot does not reveal it, charge Starry Magic up and try again.
