Roco Kingdom throws a lot at you early: catching, bloodlines, alchemy, breeding, farming. Without a plan, it's easy to waste resources, miss rare Jinies, and slow your own progression.

Tip 1: You can get all 3 starters

Picking one starter doesn't lock you out of the other two. The key item is Jini Fruit: each fruit spawns its own species of Jini.

  1. Finish Chapter 1. Your starter's fruit is a story reward, so you can't miss it.
  2. Find a player who picked a different starter and visit their world.
  3. Ask them to interact with the owl stone statue and place their starter fruit in it.
  4. Catch as many of the spawned Jinies as you like.

You don't need to be friends, you just need to be in their world, so ask politely. The same trick works for any Jini: if someone has its fruit, they can spawn it for you.

Want a Jini's fruit yourself? Catch its final form 20 times (check progress in the codex) and the fruit is yours.

Tip 2: Pace your progression and watch obedience

Your progress is tracked by your character level (also called world level). At certain stages you can take an exam, and passing it:

  • raises the level of Jinies that spawn in the overworld
  • raises your magic level cap
  • raises your Jini obedience level

Obedience is the one that catches people out. If your obedience level is 30 and you catch a level 40 Jini, it may disobey you and refuse to attack, making it dead weight in battle. Clear your exams before chasing high-level catches.

Tip 3: The student handbook is your roadmap

You level up with Character EXP, which comes from two main places:

  • Quests: main story, tale and side quests. Tap a quest's reward icon to see how much Character EXP it gives.
  • The student handbook: it lists challenges across the game and their rewards. When you're not sure what to do next, open it.

Legendary Jinies can be caught too. The first one is Sanctwing, and it's worth planning for early.

Tip 4: Farm Jini blossoms for rare bloodlines

The handbook's challenge tab includes Jini blossoms. They can spawn rare Jinies, and those Jinies can carry different bloodlines.

  • Open a blossom and scroll down to see every Jini it can spawn; the tab next to a Jini's class shows its bloodline.
  • Spawns are random, and each blossom shows a refresh timer.

Bloodlines matter because they unlock skills a Jini normally can't learn. Cataking is a Water-class Jini, but with a Havoc bloodline it gets Tradeoff as its bloodline skill.

Blossom fights can also drop Bloodline Elixirs, which let you change your own Jinies' bloodlines and open up a lot more team-building options.

Tip 5: Beat Alpha Jinies to unlock Alpha evolution

The next tab lists Alpha Jinies, and beating them pays off:

  • An egg with amazing talent that carries the bloodline needed to evolve into its Alpha form.
  • The Jini's Alpha token the first time you beat it, which you need to unlock the Alpha form.

For example, Thornado's Alpha form is Thornthor. Alpha evolution works in and out of battle, but only one Jini can be in Alpha form at a time, so it never gets out of hand. If you know Pokémon, think Mega Evolution.

To trigger it:

  1. Check that the Jini's bloodline is Alpha (the Jini menu also lets you revert it to its third-stage form).
  2. Equip the required item.
  3. Hold that Jini's Alpha token.

Then tap the evolve icon and your Jini transforms.

Tip 6: Learn alchemy early

Alchemy is the crafting system, and almost every upgrade runs through it.

What you can craft

  • Pods for catching
  • Supplies and medals
  • Skills (skill tablets; see Tip 7 for recipes)
  • Resources that power up Jinies or change their bloodlines
  • Food for your home

Tip 7: Catch everything you see

Catching isn't just for the collection. It pays off in two ways.

Codex research. Catching lots of Jinies completes research topics in the codex, which often reward skill tablets and their recipes. Poppixie's research topic, for example, gives skill tablet recipes. Plenty of skills are hidden here.

Starlight and Wishing Stars. Every catch gives a little Starlight, which fills the meter in the top-left corner. When it's full, open the menu and tap the star in the middle to claim a Wishing Star. Use Wishing Stars in alchemy to craft:

  • Key of the Worthy: modify a Jini's talents.
  • Broken Mirror: remove the negative effect of a Jini's nature.

Tip 8: Hunt Nightmare-Corrupted Jinies

Nightmare-Corrupted Jinies are tougher fights, but the rewards are worth it.

Always amazing talent. Amazing talent is the best rating a Jini can get: three stats carry a bonus (shown in yellow), and one of them also has a green arrow.

A bonus random skill. Corrupted Jinies come with an extra skill from outside their normal move set, marked with a rainbow outline.

The catch: only four skills. Purify them to fix that:

  1. Open your inventory, find the Purifying Elixir on its tab, use it on the corrupted Jini and confirm.
  2. The Jini now has its full skill list and keeps its bonus skill. A purified Umbrush, for example, keeps Test Flight.

Need more elixirs? Craft them with Wishpower Shards, which you get by releasing corrupted-bloodline Jinies.

Tip 9: Unlock your home in Chapter 3

Your home unlocks breeding and farming, and both run on real-world time, so start as soon as you can.

How to unlock it: reach Chapter 3, open the student handbook, find the challenge "Manage Your Own Home" and tap Go. That starts the quest "Test of Courage"; finish it and the cabin is yours. No quest marker? Push the main story a little further and check again.

Breeding:

  • Place Jinies in nests; the nests must be next to each other.
  • A male and a female from the same egg group will produce an egg, always of the female's species.
  • Eggs are slow, roughly one every 24 hours. Surround one male with three females and each female lays her own egg, tripling your output.

Farming: the homestead next to your cabin lets you plant seeds and grow crafting materials. Crops grow in real time, so don't put this off.

Tip 10: Start the Cubot quest on day one

The Cubot quest takes about three real-world days and rewards a chromatic Jini, this game's version of a shiny.

Find the quest-giver Jini on the map and talk to it to begin. Start it on your first day and let the timer run in the background.

One rule covers the rest: anything that runs on real-world time (the Cubot quest, eggs, crops) should start as early as possible.
