It is sticky, it is boiling, and it will not stop talking about its family tree. In Roco Kingdom, Bubblix is a walking pot of toxic slime, and its evolution Babblix insists it descends from the great cauldron in the alchemy classroom. Behind the bragging is a bulky Poison-class line whose trait makes every Poison effect hit twice. Here is how the line grows and how to use it.

The evolution line

  1. Bubblix (No. 052): Filled with toxic slime, it is always sticky. The slime is hard to wash off and is often boiling, since its boiling point is extremely low.
  2. Babblix (No. 053): It bubbles nonstop, so no one can tell whether it is boiling or just chattering. It seems to spread rumors on purpose, claiming to be a direct descendant of the grand cauldron in the alchemy classroom. Researchers studying it have to sit through tales of its “glorious lineage” fifty times a day.

Both stages are Poison class and share the same trait. Bubblix belongs to the Fairy and Mineral egg groups. It is also one of the species with a Chromatic form.

Trait: Compound Brew

While this Jini is on the field, end-of-turn Poison effects on both sides trigger one extra time.

Every Poison effect ticking at the end of the turn goes off twice, which doubles the damage poisoned opponents take. The effect works on both sides, though, so keep your own team clear of Poison while this line is out.

Stats at every stage

Here is how Species Aptitude grows from Bubblix to Babblix:

  1. Bubblix, 459 total: HP 110, Physical Attack 29, Magic Attack 82, Physical Defense 71, Magic Defense 83, Speed 84
  2. Babblix, 573 total: HP 137, Physical Attack 36, Magic Attack 102, Physical Defense 89, Magic Defense 104, Speed 105

This line is a bulky magic user. Babblix’s 137 HP is the highest of any Jini covered in this series so far, and its 102 Magic Attack and 104 Magic Defense make it a solid magic fighter. It also has 105 Speed, so it can apply Poison early. Its Physical Attack is very low, so stick to magic skills.

Size and capture details:

  1. Bubblix: 0.65 to 0.8 m, 48.5 to 56 kg. Gives 32 Starlight and a 2,400 Roco Coin base review reward.
  2. Babblix: 0.64 to 0.91 m, 67.9 to 89.2 kg. Gives 56 Starlight and a 4,200 Roco Coin base review reward.

Class effectiveness

When attacking with Poison skills:

  1. Deals ×2 damage to: Flora and Charm
  2. Deals ×0.5 damage to: Earth, Poison, Shadow and Mech

When defending as a Poison-class Jini:

  1. Takes ×2 damage from: Earth, Havoc and Stellar
  2. Takes ×0.5 damage from: Flora, Poison, Bug, Fighting and Charm

All other matchups deal normal ×1 damage. Flora and Charm Jinies are ideal targets, since this line both hits them hard and resists their attacks.

Research skills and Specialties

Babblix’s research skills are:

Where to start

  1. Evolve Bubblix into Babblix. Its total Species Aptitude climbs from 459 to 573.
  2. Poison opponents with skills like Poison Mist, then let Compound Brew double the damage every turn.
  3. Keep your own team free of Poison while it is on the field, since the trait affects both sides.
  4. Build around Magic Attack, and lean on its huge HP to stay in the fight.
  5. Send it in against Flora and Charm opponents, and switch out against Earth, Havoc and Stellar attackers.
  6. Chain-catch Bubblix for a chance at its Chromatic form.
