ArcheAge Chronicles is now available in Steam Early Access, marking the official debut of XLGAMES' new online action RPG set in the ArcheAge universe. The game launches on PC for US$29.99 and supports online co-op, PvE, and PvP gameplay.

Set on the continent of Auroria, the game introduces a new standalone adventure that welcomes both longtime ArcheAge players and newcomers. Rather than requiring knowledge of the original MMORPG, Chronicles tells its own story while expanding the world's lore through exploration, quests, and large-scale encounters.

Early Access Expands Well Beyond the Demo

According to Executive Producer Ham, the Steam Next Fest demo represented only a small portion of the full Early Access build.

The Early Access version opens most of Diamond Shores, adds the new regions Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains, and includes more than 60 explorable areas alongside over 1,000 exploration and collection points. Each region features its own quests, dungeons, bosses, and discoveries for players to uncover.

The game also includes four playable classes, online cooperative play, dedicated PvP channels, and a variety of exploration-focused activities introduced during previous public testing.

XLGAMES Outlines Post-Launch Plans

XLGAMES has already shared several features currently in development for future Early Access updates.

Among the team's priorities are:

  • Removing gender restrictions across all classes by full release.
  • Introducing a third weapon type for every class, beginning with the Gladius for the Warrior.
  • Continuing to expand the world and gameplay systems based on player feedback.
  • Publishing a detailed Early Access roadmap shortly after launch.

The studio says it plans to share the roadmap after players have had time to experience the Early Access version so future updates can better reflect community feedback.

Building on Steam Next Fest

Prior to launch, ArcheAge Chronicles held a public Steam Next Fest demo that introduced players to the opening areas of Auroria, four playable classes, a new dungeon called Throne of Hinnon, and PvP gameplay. XLGAMES says feedback from the demo has already resulted in improvements to combat, party play, navigation, audio, localization, and overall game polish heading into Early Access.
