Most vampire stories send you into the castle to kill its owner. ReVamp makes you the owner. You are Dracula, the monsters work for you, and the approaching heroes are about to discover why this was a bad place to go adventuring. Digital Sun, the studio behind Moonlighter and Cataclismo, calls it a castle-defense roguelite.
Your castle is part of the fight
The hook is not just playing the villain. You design the fortress, decide what guards it, and take control of Dracula when a carefully planned defence starts falling apart. The game is heading to Steam, with the fortress and its defenders at the centre of the experience.
Instead of treating the building as a fixed backdrop, ReVamp lets you assemble it room by room. Entrances, connections and the route towards your throne become tactical decisions. Between attacks, you can reshape the layout rather than simply hoping the same arrangement works next time.

That is the idea to watch: not just whether a room looks suitably gothic, but what happens when enemies actually have to cross it. A fortress that is impressive in a screenshot is not necessarily one that protects its owner.
Put the monsters to work
A castle needs more than its resident vampire. Digital Sun's announced roster includes creatures such as skeletons, werewolves and harpies, giving you an army to place around the fortress.

The developer screenshots make the mix of scales immediately visible. One screen zooms in on individual unit cards; another pulls back to show an entire multi-storey fortress. You are looking at both a monster collection and a map you will have to defend.

When the plan breaks, Dracula steps in
You are not restricted to watching the siege from above. Dracula can move through the castle, use melee attacks and unleash blood-based abilities. Blood also feeds longer-term progression, so the repeated battles are meant to expand your options rather than send you back to an identical starting point.

For players who enjoy designing a defence but dislike being completely hands-off once combat begins, that combination is the most interesting part of the pitch. The question for a playable build is whether the personal combat and the castle management give each other room to breathe.

How can you play?
Digital Sun has announced March 25, 2027 for the Steam release. The test arrangements have changed since that announcement, however, so an older invitation to request Steam access should not be read as a promise of immediate entry.
In comments reported by PC Gamer, Digital Sun said it was keeping its first test smaller because of concerns about unreleased games being reverse-engineered and cloned. That is its stated concern, not evidence that ReVamp itself has been copied.
A studio statement reproduced by Time Extension schedules the smaller Discord test for October 29, 2026; the studio hopes to open a broader public test around January. Access is not guaranteed. For the current instructions, follow Digital Sun's community links from the steam rather than treating the game as a freely available demo.
